An extremely rare quinarius from the Suessiones of splendid Celtic style

NORTHEAST GAUL. Suessiones. Circa 100-50 BC. Quinarius (Silver, 14 mm, 2.45 g, 5 h). NHI Male head to right, hair in six S-shaped locks, wearing necklace bound with star fibula. Rev. ՒΔBI[...] Horse springing to right; before, star; below, three pellets-in-annulets. DT -, cf. 207 (differing legends). Flesche -. LT -. Scheers p. 487, 48 and pl. XII, 321-324. Extremely rare. Beautifully toned and sharply struck on sound metal, an excellent piece of splendid Celtic style. Good extremely fine.
